Delicates is a clothing brand dedicated to environmental protection. In 2019, I received an invitation from Managing director Jake to help develop delicates' sustainable development strategy, sustainable materials and new product lines.
The fashion industry generates billions of dollars in waste each year because of its characteristics. Starting with each piece of clothing and excess inventory, we try to find a reasonable explanation between sustainability and fashion and outline the closed-loop structure of the fashion industry. At the BIFT Materials Center and the DELICATES Materials Laboratory, we conducted an exploration of the production of TPU bonding fabrics from recycled apparel fabrics. This new material not only integrates fashion waste into the new fashion industry chain but also achieves a certain degree of sustainability; it also retains the cultural attributes of each piece of clothing in the form of incoming products. This is the sustainability of the fashion industry and the new life of every garment.
The series of recycling bags were exhibited in Tokyo and Beijing and officially sold.
