This project was supported by the Royal College of Art and LG. Normally, a TV turned off is like a black box. Our project makes the non-working TV a new tool for us to perceive the outside world.

We refer to skylights in the building, which connect the interior and exterior, providing lighting, ventilation and dehumidification. The goal is that people who spend a lot of time indoors don't become isolated. Through our projects, we can feel nature, the outdoors, and even the world.

CASE SCENARIOS

The post-pandemic era has us spending enormous, if not most of our time at home being unable to access the outside environment. This unique time has led us to reevaluate our homes and their potential for connection with the outside world. Our proposal extends from the motto “Life’s good from home” (From the 2020 IFA banner) by creating a product inspired by the Roman architectural feature of a compluvium, a square opening that would allow rainwater in.

We focus not only on the entertainment experience but also on the new spatial experience of a screen on the ceiling. Our skylight focuses on a new relationship between the wall/the surface and the screen as an opportunity to activate the senses. We echo LG in "redefining space" with rollable OLED.
