Future Food & Agriculture：
Taste Seeking Syndrome｜2021

We envision the UK government making a range of policy changes to address these challenges, such as eradicating hunger and food insecurity, improving the productivity and sustainable use of existing natural resources, and adapting to future climate change. In this scenario, we use a series of props and photos to depict the future of food and agriculture changes.

What If

The first is that the British government is committed to providing safe, stable and healthy food for all so there is a lot of public investment. The second is in the food processing industry, where the UK government aims to steer the food processing industry towards innovation and equitable distribution of safe and nutritious food, rather than boosting the profits of big companies. Next came livestock and agriculture, where the British government massively regulated and bought businesses to improve productivity and sustainable use.

To validate our policy change, we looked to the UN's Future Food Agriculture Report to see what the world might look like, considering the challenges of equitable food distribution and food security. The UN's Future Food and Agriculture Report envisages three scenarios by considering the fairness of food distribution and the stability of food. Decision-makers at all levels can influence the extent of challenges for sustainable food and agriculture, through strategies, policies, programmes and other actions.

According to the table, policies for sustainable food and Agriculture can effectively reduce the challenges of food and nutrition insecurity. And that fits perfectly with the range of policies we envision the UK government introducing to address these challenges.

Time Line

This timeline shows how the UK government is responding to these challenges. First, the government took over the food industry to ensure safety, stability and sustainability through acquisition and investment, and then gradually began to adjust the prices of the food industry and set up NNS institutions. The organization gives out free food kits with enough calories and nutrients to the public and continues to optimize them.
